Intel Launches new Intel® Xeon® 600 Processors for Workstation

The newest Intel workstation processor family comes with up to 86 performance cores (P-cores) and 128 lanes of PCIe 5.0 connectivity to power next generation professional workflows.

What’s New:

In February 2025, Intel announced its new Intel® Xeon® 600 processors for Client Workstation, a full stack update for Intel’s high-end workstation platform (Intel® W890 Chipset). The newest generation of Intel workstation processors provides a wide range of improvements on its prior generation portfolio, including a significant increase in core count, PCIe connectivity, support for higher memory speeds, and better power efficiency than ever before.

What It Offers:

The new Intel® Xeon® 600 processors for Workstation deliver a broad range of benefits for Data Science/AI Development, Engineering Simulation/Visualization, and Media and Entertainment content creation. Key benefits include a significant increase in multi-thread (MT) performance compared to prior-generation processors, more robust I/O capabilities, improved wired and wireless connectivity, and expanded support for advanced AI training and inference workloads. Utilizing Intel 3 process technology, and Redwood Cove+ core architecture, Intel® Xeon® 600 Processors for Workstation also feature increased core counts across the product stack – providing users with up to 61% higher MT performance at existing power consumption targets when comparing the 86-core Xeon 698X to the prior generation 64-core W3595X.

Unleashing Heavy-Duty Computing:

The launch of the new Intel® Xeon® 600 Processors for Workstation establishes a new standard for what’s possible with overclocking in a workstation platform. Intel, in partnership with ASUS and its Overclocking team, is excited to announce that it has set several new overclocking world records at launch:Powered by an Intel® Xeon® 698X Processor and an ASUS Pro WS W890E-SAGE SE motherboard, Intel and ASUS have set new overclocking world records across 10 benchmarks – including Geekbench4 Multi-Core, Geekbench5 Multi-Core, Y-Cruncher (Up to 28B). Additionally, the partnership has led to another 10 global first place submissions – including Geekbench3 Multi Core, Geekbench6 Multi-core, Cinebench R20, Cinebench R23, Cinebench R15, and Y-Cruncher (Up to 100B).
