Prestigio Cartoon Contest Winners Announced

Prestigio has announced the results of its cartoon contest “Funny High-Tech in Art”. The jury has selected 5 winners out of almost 400 entries submitted by contestants from 33 countries worldwide.

The jury has selected 5 winners out of almost 400 entries submitted by contestants from 33 countries worldwide.

On the 1st of April - the International Day of Humour – the contest organizers announced the decision of the Prestigio Jury and the results of the contest website visitors’ vote. The cartoons considered for this nomination had to contain at least one visual element of the Prestigio brand. This special prize was won by Dmitry Trofimov from Russia for his cartoon "Prestigio girl". Dmitry will receive Prestigio’s multimedia player PMP-501 (30 GB) and a cash award of US$400.

According to the Contest rules, the Grand Prix had to be awarded to the author of the entry that would score the maximum number of votes in the independent visitors’ poll at the contest’s website. As a result of the vote count, this top contest prize was awarded to Valentin Georgiev from Bulgaria for his artwork "Prestigio". This entry scored the highest number of visitor votes. The Grand Prix winner will receive Prestigio’s fascinating portable media recorder with TV tuner PMR-701 and a cash award of USD600.

The Professional Jury consisting of 5 internationally-recognized cartoonists selected 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The Professional Jury considered only the entries performed at a high artistic level. After almost two days of hot debates the jury finally selected the best of the best.

The First place was awarded to Vasiliy Alexandrov from Russia for his "The Sun" cartoon. Vasiliy will get Prestigio Data Safe II (40GB) plus a cash award of US$200.

The Second place was given to Rumen Dragostinov (Bulgaria) for "Algoritam" entry. Rumen is entitled to receiving Prestigio’s Leather Data Flash (1GB) and US$200.

The Third place was awarded to Andre-Philippe Cote (Canada) for his "Limit is the sky" work. Andre-Philippe will get Leather Data Flash (1GB) and US$100.

The goal of the Prestigio International Cartoon Contest was to single out the most creative artworks that would best illustrate the company’s motto «The Art of Hi-Tech». The competition was open to people from all backgrounds, ages and levels of experience. This year's Cartoon Contest reaffirmed vast popularity and recognition of the Prestigio brand, as well as the existence of online community which is united by its passion for art and hi-tech.

The annual Cartoon contest is over, but Prestigio is already preparing its traditional international contest of artistic photography which is due to be announced at the end of April 2007.

Prestigio has made it a tradition since 2004 to hold several artistic contests each year aimed at promoting the Prestigio brand and identifying and encouraging gifted artists and designers from around the world.
